(SOLD) St. John Paul the Great

The Great  Read about his life below!

Original oil painting on unstretched canvas. Comes ready to hang with a walnut wood frame. Ships free in the US.

Description

On the painting:
Painted with oil paint on a primed, heavyweight canvas, the painted part measures roughly 8×10, and the canvas overall at roughly 10×12. Comes with the simple wood frame shown in the photos which hangs on your wall with string threaded through the top bar. Frame is attached with magnets and provides that finishing touch besides making it possible to hang.

Can you get this painting stretched on canvas bars and traditionally framed? Probably – let me know if you do, I would love to see pictures! I do not finish them this way because the rough edge is by design and provides its own charm and character.

On the reference: Painted from a public domain photo of the saint, copyright for this particular rendition remains with me, Monica Skrzypczak. Do not copy without permission, post as you would desire on social media, but be sure to tag @outpouringoftrust.sacredart

No prints will be made of any Saint paintings.

_______

On the Saint:

St. John Paul the Great. He did so much to prepare the Church for these times.

Luminous mysteries, Theology of the Body, World Youth Day, the letter to artists, canonizing more saints than any other pope (by like, a lot), helping to end communism in Poland and Eastern Europe.

Raised to the papacy after Vatican II had already been decided, he took an interesting approach. Instead of debating back and forth between the merit of this or that he went to the youth.

He taught us to grow, learn, and think critically about our faith. He emphasized the Eucharist. He traveled nonstop to be a physical reminder of the Church alive.

He taught us to stand on our own two feet. Seek God above all and see you are never alone.

And you can see plainly the fruit that it bore for our generation of Catholics.

Your Impact

For every order, 10% of all proceeds will go to organizations who provide resources to at risk women before and after birth.

The first is The Pregnancy Care Center of Rockford. They area a local organization to me,  providing resources and care for free to women in crisis pregnancies, from ultrasounds to parenting classes to post abortion healing.

The second is the Sisters of Life, a newer religious community founded in 1991 in New York to promote the dignity of every human life. They have houses for women to come live with them during and after their pregnancy as they get back on their feet, as well as counseling for post abortion healing, and other missions.
