Description
Praying for the Pope and his intentions is a longstanding edict given to the faithful. As we believe that just as Jesus is the head of the Body and we are the members, so too should the visible church on earth that Jesus established should have a visible head. And so we believe in the Papacy. From St. Peter all the way to Pope Leo XIV, we have an unbroken line of succession who’s task is to shephard the church and, with the Magisterium or by speaking “ex cathedra”, provide clarity for the faithful on matters of faith and morals. He is the final say, and pope always wield that authority carefully.
And as we welcome the 267th Pope, how exciting is it that he is from Chicago, is so humble and kind while speaking out with clarity and sincerity. It is my greatest hope that having an American Pope will spark a renewal in the faith of Americans, and so I couldn’t wait to paint a portrait of him!
