Description
This image was inspired by a sweet little statue in the church at the end of the Camino de Santiago, the Way of St. James. The state is in The Pilgrim’s Office Chapel in Santiago de Compostela.
She wears the traditional hat and colors of the Camino, showing the red shell that is the way-marker for the journey, as well as holding the staff and gourd traditionally used by pilgrims.
Baby Jesus stares into the eyes of the viewer, inviting you to His heart, stretching out his hand where there is draped a rosary that links back to Mary’s hand.
Originally created for the pilgrimage group, Follow My Camino which puts together Camino pilgrimages and other holy site pilgrimages. Check them out! https://www.followmycamino.com/
