Description
I currently have a couple different styles of paintings. They are:
1) Saint portrait: relatively easy/quick to paint. Uses a singular photo or old painting (depending on age of saint) as the reference for the face of the saint. Only shoulders and up. Painted on an unstretched canvas and hangable with a sleek top and bottom walnut wood frame. Click here for examples. Generally can be completed in less than a month.
2) Mastercopy: a more difficult painting because the masters are amazing and detailed. Uses a singular painting (over 100 years old at minimum) and seeks to copy it precisely. Painted on a linen panel (linen adhered to 3/8″ plywood). Will need a frame to hang, but is more archival than on a stretched canvas. Click here for examples (NOTE: examples are just of cropped paintings of faces, but I can do whole paintings dependent on size/complexity). Generally can be completed in less than a month.
3) Original concept: Most difficult/time consuming painting. Uses many references found online or taken myself to create an original piece of sacred art. Can be inspired by multiple paintings over 100 years old and created into my style. Again, painted on a linen panel (linen adhered to 3/8″ plywood). Will need a frame to hang, but is more archival than on a stretched canvas.
We will work back and forth to create the piece. Checkpoints are: taking about your idea, negotiating size and payment, half of payment paid (non-refundable), sketch completed by me and approved by you (time for adjustments is now), painting painted and shown for approval (small adjustments can be made), other half of payment, and lastly, shipping to you. Timeline will depend on my busyness, and will take 1-3 months or more. The earlier I know the better.
Payment for all of commissions is half up front (non-refundable) and half upon completion and before shipping. Payments can be split more, but must all be in before shipping.
For paintings on linen panels, optional custom handmade frames with genuine gold leaf are available. These are my favorite frames to display art. Constructed out of real wood and meticulously carved and painted, you can’t find quality like it in stores. As with all custom made frames, it will be pricy, but in my opinion it’s worth it 100x over. Click here for some examples.
