Description
The Creed; After the sermon, the priest prays the Nicene Creed, kneeling down at the words “and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary: and was made man”.
This is the summation of the Catholic Faith. Everything we believe summed up in a few short lines of prayer. From the nature of God as Trinity, to the death and Resurrection of Christ, to our belief in Baptism and life after death.
Surrounded by the soft pinks, whites, and gold of this altar, the Creed takes on a beloved nature. This is our faith, it doesn’t matter what the world believes, this is what we believe. When we say the Creed, we are home.
Surrounded by the angels and Sts. Peter and Paul we are among good company for both evangelizing and holding true to the Faith even unto martyrdom. And we aren’t even alone in grievous sin; Paul killed Christians and Peter denied Christ three times. But they both sought the forgiveness and mercy of God and never gave up the journey to God. And for that they won the crown of sanctity.
